Burlap Craft Project

My creative juices are back and I've been trying to catch up with some craft projects!

Of course, most of my craft projects start with a trip to Goodwill or Salvation Army.

This project started with a $6 ugly craft painting at the local Goodwill.

Hideous-- right?!?

But, boy oh boy, did it have potential!

I decided to create a bulletin board out of it to keep track of all my bills, invitations, and any other cute junk mail. So $10 later, I have this...

The frame was PERFECT...already the perfect shabby chic!

I just popped out the painting to expose the window frame.

Then I bought black foam poster board and cut it to the size of the frame.

I suggest using an exacto knife to get a clean cut on the side.

Then I bought 1/2 yard of tan burlap and cut it to the size of the foam board.

I just used fabric glue to adhere it to the foam board.

And it was just THAT simple!

I'm linking up with A Soft Place to Land's DIY Day!
